Jesus commanded his followers to love their neighbors as themselves, and to love one another. Since Jesus’ day, people have interpreted this command to mean that you should love all Christians (or even all people who claim faith in Christ). But Jesus did not say that. He did not say “I’m not talking about the members of my church.” He said “love your neighbor,” which means loving all people, including non-Christians and those who don’t know Christ.
